Installation via Native driver
Connect the printer to your computer only when prompted by the installer
Install the XID Native driver (available in the Matica product page for your specific printer)
When requested connect the printer back to your machine
Optionally install the
Job Monitor
(Prompted during installation)
Installation via EDIsecure Connect
Setup
In order to install a XID Series printer from Matica, you’ll need to install the EDIsecure Connect utility
This tool can be downloaded HERE
Extract the files and follow the steps provided during the setup process
After installing, under the Start menu, you should have a folder named
EDIsecure Connect
orMatica
(depending on the installed version) with the tools available to be used
Configuration
Under the Start menu, open the
EDIsecure Connect
/Matica
folder and then click onAdministration Center
/Device Configurator
In the tool that opens select you’ll be prompted to add a new device. If not click on
New Printer
on the top left corner of the utilitySelect the type of device that you are trying to add, in this case we’re selecting
Printer
Select the appropriate printer series
Select the appropriate device model and port. The default value here is
1
Return to the Start menu, and in the
EDIsecure Connect
/Matica
folder open theDispatcher
/Job Monitor
. Here you’ll be able to check if the printer is properly detected, its status and job queue.
If correctly recognized it will be displayed with a green icon above it signalling that the printer is ready to work
Printing & Encoding
Printing with/without encoding
With the printer now configured, please open your CardExchange®
On the top menu click on
Print
and then click onPrinter Options
Select the appropriate printer and press
OK
Select the desired card template and on the top menu click on
Print
, then click onPrint Card
and confirm the print by pressingOK
The card should be pulled into the printer and after a few seconds you’ll have your newly printed card
Magnetic encoding
For magnetic encoding, go to the Windows
Control Panel
, enter theDevices and Printers
sectionSelect
Printers & Scanners
Select the appropriate printer
Click on
Printing Preferences
On the configuration window that opened enable the
Magstripe
option
