Business Rule Options
A Business Rule is the second step in creating a Process in CardExchange® Cloud.
A Business Rule is responsible for firing one or more Actions when a Person’s details or card credential details meet certain conditions
This step requires that you have already created an Action. You can read more about how to create a system action here.
Managing Business Rules
To create a new business rule, click the + New button in the top corner.
Enter the Name of the Business rule, then a Description of what the business rule does.
Active: Set whether the Business rule is active and fire the actions when conditions are met.
Run business rule without conditions: enable this option to run the business rule and fire the selected action when told to by the System Workflow.
Business Rule Conditions
Conditions can be set to ensure the business rule and added action is only fired when the condition is met.
To add a condition:
Expand the If section to view the condition settings
Expand the Condition settings to select Add Condition
Select the conditional field, the operator to match the condition, and the value to match the condition. If a modifier is needed, add a modifier.
Click the + button just below to confirm the condition and add it to the business rule.
Expand the Actions section to fire the action when the condition above is met.
Select the Add Action button and select the Action created in the Processes Action section of the Controller System.
Click the + button just below to confirm the action and add it to the business rule condition.
Else If and Else statement conditions can also be created to expand the actions that can be done in the system further.
Click Save to save all changes in the Business rule.
