Barcode Scanning Carriage Return

Barcode Scanning Carriage Return

Products: CardExchange Visitor

Some barcode scanners may not be setup with the correct carriage return needed to complete a automatic check in/out. When assigning a barcode, the program waits for a Return key at the end of the barcode information to complete the end of the barcode scan. You can test this by opening a notepad and scanning a barcode into it. This should input the barcode number, and then skip return to the next line. If Visitor is responding to a barcode scan but not automatically checking in/out a visitor, this means that Visitor read the barcode information but did not receive an ending return key.

Please refer to your barcode scanners operational manual to configure the carriage return.
