Transferring TrustID v4 Data to a new PC
Moving Data incl. Templates and Database
On the old PC, navigate to the location where the Data folder is stored. By default, this is located at C:\Users\Public\Documents\TrustID\Data.
Copy the entire Data folder to a portable storage device such as a USB drive.
On the new PC, install TrustID v4.
Navigate to the location where the Data folder is stored on the new PC. By default, this is also located at C:\Users\Public\Documents\TrustID\Data.
Rename or delete the existing Data folder to ensure it does not conflict with the transferred data.
Paste the Data folder copied from the old PC into the location on the new PC.
Launch TrustID and check that all the data has been transferred successfully.
In some cases the data folder may not be in the default location, for example, it may be on a network share so that it is always backed up.
If this is the case you can check the current path being used for the data folder, to do this you will need to open the Trustid.ini configuration file from the old PC which is located in the installation directory.
If you open the ini file in notepad you will see an entry for DataDirectory which will show you the current path. If it is a network share then you can simply point the new installation to the same network share, otherwise you can copy the folder and change the path following the same steps above.
Reactivating License
For license reactivation, there are two types of licenses. Standalone licenses, Network licenses, and Subscription licenses. All license types have a 6 digit license Serial Number used to identify that license. All licenses serial numbers can only be active on one machine at a time. If you are not certain what license type you have, send a support request with the license serial shown in the software’s Assist ribbon menu tab, About TrustID button option. Alternatively, the license serial number can be obtained through the software-stored license file found in this folder location "C:\Users\Public\Documents\TrustID\License\lservrc"
Standalone licenses require a 34-character activation code to reactivate. Lost standalone license details can be recovered with a service charge. See this page for more information: https://cardexchangesolutions.atlassian.net/l/cp/Ff22SZbB
Network licenses also require the 34-character activation code as well. There is the further configuration needed to reactivate a Network license, see our user guide here for more information: https://help.cardexchangesolutions.com/producer/en/network-license-installation.html
Subscription licenses require an Email username and password to log in to the software and activate an active subscription. See our blog post for more information: https://www.cardexchangeid.com/blog/11-how-to/139-activating-a-trustid-subscription
Note: This Data folder is automatically backed up when an upgrade is installed, however we recommend making regular backups of this folder as it contains all of the configuration files/templates/logins etc… for your installation.
