Record Lookup

The simplest way of adding the correct record details to the card is to use the Records pane that is displayed at the left-hand side of the main window. You can use the scroll bar to scroll through the list to find the correct record and then select it by clicking. The Records pane may be sorted in various ways and is not necessarily alphabetical. You must take this into account when searching for a record.

UsingData_RecordLookup

In the Records pane in the main interface of PriceCardPro® you see all the records presented that are available in your database. When you make a database connection, in the Record look-up fields page you select the columns that are shown in the Records pane. You can find everything about making database connections in the "Using Databases" section of this Help file.

Record Sorting

UsingData_RecordLookup_RecordSorting

The Records pane is a so called data grid showing all your available database records divided by columns. Sorting the records is just as simple as clicking on the column.

Record Look Up

UsingData_RecordLookup_RecordLookup

It is very simple to search for records inside the Records pane. Enter the text that you want to search for in the text box directly above the columns. The text you enter always applies to the first column displayed. If you want to look up records from other columns, for example the Item Code column, you have to drag the column to the front.

Loaded Record Information

UsingData_RecordLookup_LoadedRecords

In the footer of the Records pane, the total number of loaded records is shown.

You will notice that this method becomes less attractive if the list is very long and that you need a more directed manner of finding the correct data. The following alternative find methods are available:

Finding records using the Find section in the Home tab,

Finding names using the Keyboard

Finding names using Filters

The first two methods will be explained in the following sections. For an explanation of filters, please refer to the section Filters of this Help file.
