Transferring Data

Follow these steps to transfer your CardExchange® Producer installation from an old PC to a new PC, then you can follow the below stepsone:

  1. Install CardExchange® Producer on the new New PC

    1. You can always find the latest updates and downloads on our downloads page here: DownloadsDownload the latest version of the software from the CardExchange Downloads Page.

  2. Copy the Data directory Directory from the old Old PC, by default this

    1. By default, the data directory is located in

    the following location depending on the application

    CardExchange® Producer -
    1. Code Block
      C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\CardExchange\Data
    2. Copy the entire Data folder to a backup location, such as an external drive or network storage.

  3. Activate the software with your software license CardExchange® Producer on the New PC

    1. Use your Serial Number and 34-character Activation Code

    Rename the Data directory from

  4. Replace the Data Directory on the New PC

    1. On the new PC, navigate to the same location

    new PC and copy in the backup

    2. Rename the current Data folder (e.g., to Data_old) and copy the backup Data folder from the old PC

    Copy the cegateway.sqlite file from the renamed data folder to your backup data folder

  5. Run CardExchange® Producer

Reactivating Your License

For license reactivation, there are CardExchange licenses come in two types of licenses. Standalone licenses, : Standalone Licenses and Network licenses Licenses. All license types have require a 6-digit license Serial Numberused to identify that license. All licenses serial numbers and can only be active on one machine at a time. If you are not certain what license type you have, send a support request with the license serial shown in the software’s Assist ribbon menu tab, About CardExchange button option. Alternatively, the license serial number can be obtained through the software-stored license file found in this folder location "C:\Users\Public\Documents\CardExchange\License\lservrc"

To Identify Your License Type:

  • In the CardExchange Producer software, go to the Assist ribbon menu, then select About CardExchange to view your license details.

  • Alternatively, you can find your serial number in the license file located at:
