Installation via Native driver

  • ⚠️ Connect the printer to your computer only when prompted by the installer

  • Install the XID Native driver (available in the Matica product page for your specific printer)

  • When requested connect the printer back to your machine

  • Optionally install the Job Monitor (Prompted during installation)

Installation via EDIsecure Connect

Setup

  • In order to install a XID Series printer from Matica, you’ll need to install the EdiSecure EDIsecure Connect utility

    • This tool can be downloaded HERE

  • Extract the files and follow the steps provided during the setup process

  • After installing, under the Start menu, you should have a folder named EdiSecure EDIsecure Connect or Matica (depeding depending on the installed version) with the tools available to be used

Configuration

  1. Under the Start menu, open the EdiSecure EDIsecure Connect/Matica folder and then click on Administration Center/Device Configurator

  1. Return to the Start menu, and in the EdiSecure EDIsecure Connect/Matica folder open the Dispatcher/Job Monitor. Here you’ll be able to check if the printer is properly detected, its status and job queue.

  1. If correctly recognized it will be displayed with a green icon above it signalling that the printer is ready to work

  • Some users have reported that during this step the Matica XID 8300 DS appears in the Dispatcher/Job Monitor but instead of displaying a green icon it stays greyed out.

  • To solve this issue follow these steps

    • Disconnect the printer from your computer

    • Return to the Administration Center/Device Configurator and on the left hand panel select Delete Group. This will remove the configured printer

    • Install the following driver Matica XID Driver 8.0.1

    • When requested connect the printer back to your machine

    • Repeat the steps in the Configuration section

Printing & Encoding

Printing with/without encoding

  1. With the printer now configured, please open your CardExchange®

  2. On the top menu click on Print and then click on Printer Options

  3. Select the appropriate printer and press OK

  4. Select the desired card template and on the top menu click on Print, then click on Print Card and confirm the print by pressing OK

  5. The card should be pulled into the printer and after a few seconds you’ll have your newly printed card
