Producer Help - Network License Editions

With the Business edition of CardExchange® Producer, you can also choose to purchase a Network License (SBS, this allows for concurrent licensing and the ability to run a client on a server based operating system.

This would typically have the license manager installed on a server along with the database and configuration. The SBS client is then installed on the workstations that will be using the software.

Here are the steps for a complete SBS installation:

  1. Create the environmental variable for the license file location
  2. Install the license manager
    1. Optional: Install CardExchange
  3. Open the license manager (WlmAdmin.exe)
  4. Activate your SBS license
  5. Add them to the license manager (Wlmadmin.exe)
  6. Configure clients to point to the license manager
    1. Optional: Configure clients to share data folders

For installing a CardExchange® Network License (SBS) editions, the following operating systems are supported:

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10
Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012
Citrix and Terminal Systems
Virtual Machines

All operating systems are supported as 32 and 64 bit systems and need to run the latest available service packs of Microsoft.

For running CardExchange® SBS editions on servers or workstations we advice the following minimum specifications:

400 MB free disk space for Workstations
Dual core processor
2048 MB internal memory (32bit)
4096 MB internal memory (64bit)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1

Specific Firewall information:

Firewall issues are usually solved by adding the Sentinel RMS License Manager to your the firewall exceptions. The provider of the licensing system SafeNet states that:
"The Sentinel RMS License Manager only uses the UDP port 5093 at Server end by default. And at client end the ports are used dynamically and controlled by Operating System i.e. for communication only UDP port 5093 is used at server end and at client end it is used dynamically on the basis of available port."

We recommend installing CardExchange on the machine hosting the license manager and test locally before you continue configuring other clients.
